Description As a Server Assistant with Le Meridien St Louis Clayton, you will be responsible for table the set-up and clearance of restaurant tables, stocking of all server stations, and assisting the service in the dining room in a friendly, courteous, and professional manner in accordance with the high standards of the hotel and brand. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: + Quickly clear dirty table settings and prepare table for resetting. Promptly and consistently reset all serviceware as prescribed. + Maintain stock and cleanliness of stations for all meal periods with necessary equipment including silverware, linen and condiments. + Serve guests with beverages, breads and butter to begin their dining experience and replenish as necessary. + Transport all dirty tableware from dining room to dishwashing area for proper cleaning. + Participate in ensuring the dining room is clean & presentable to guests. This could include, but not limited to sweeping/moping of floors and detail cleaning of outlets. + Comply with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basis + Perform any other job-related duties as assigned REQUIRED SKILLS & ABILITIES: + Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing + Positive Attitude with a team first mentality + Ability to maintain high levels of professionalism; treat others with respect and consideration regardless of situation. + Ability to manage difficult or emotional customers or situations; includes ability to respond promptly to guest requests + Basic knowledge of food & beverage preparations, service standards, and etiquette. + Knowledge of table settings and serviceware + Ability to remember, recite and promote a variety of menu items + Ability to push/pull/lift up to 100 lbs with or without reasonable accommodation.
