Under supervision is responsible for the preparation , cooking , quality and presentation and service of food for patients, cafeteria, and catering events.
Equivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma.
HS Diploma or equivalent education/experience
Other: One or more years in a college program or culinary academy preferred.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE AS TYPICALLY ACQUIRED IN:
Three years experience on-the job-training as a cook or cook's helper.
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
Ability to meet and greet customers pleasantly and courteously.
Ability to maintain good customer relations.
Must be able to interpret and execute menu and orders for special diets.
Must be knowledgeable in food production and batch cooking.
Must be able to utilize portion control and be able to read and follow standardized recipes.
Must be knowledgeable in safe food handling practices and procedures.
