Overview
Lakeside is hiring part-time Bartenders to work 8 hours/week, 3:30pm-7:30pm shifts, with a starting pay of up to $18.00/hour, depending on experience. This position will include some food service in the lounge area, utliizing a POS system. The lounge area is open from 4:00pm to 7:00pm Monday-Saturday and during special occasions. The overall purpose of this job is to provide timely, accurate and friendly service while preparing and serving the highest quality alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages for our residents and guests. Supports and lives out Immanuel's Mission and CHRIST Promises.
Responsibilities
Key Areas Key Responsibilities and Duties of the Job Bartending
- Serves alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, including wine, draft or bottled beer, and limited spirits.
- Assists residents/guests in selecting beverage items.
- Observes guests and responds to their needs to ensure a positive customer service experience.
- Collects payments (credit cards or apartment charge) for items served following company's established accounting procedures for all transactions.
- Arranges bottles and glasses in bar area to make attractive displays.
- Restocks bar par levels at the end of every shift.
- Conducts bar inventory and submits supply requisition order to manager in timely manner.
Alcohol Compliance
- Checks identification of guest in order to verify age requirements for purchase of alcohol and documents in log book.
- Follows alcohol awareness procedures for preventing and handling of intoxicated patrons.
- Stores alcohol items according to company policies and procedures.
- Keeps immediate supervisor promptly and fully informed of potential issues/concerns or unusual matters of significance and takes prompt corrective action where necessary or suggests alternative courses of action which may be taken.
- Monitors staff ensuring compliance with alcohol serving and handling laws and Immanuel policies.
- Completes and submits to the Dining Room Manager Refusal of Alcohol Service Report in a timely manner as needed.
Safety/Sanitation
- Cleans and sanitizes work areas including surfaces, towels, utensils, and dispensers.
- Maintains safety of work areas.
- Maintains clean, safe environment in bar lounge area for residents, guests, and co-workers.
- Follows all procedures and regulations as written by management.
Other
- Performs other duties as assigned or requested.
Qualifications
Education-
- High School Diploma/GED is preferred.
- Equivalent years of experience may substitute for education requirement.
Experience-
- Previous bartending or related experience serving alcohol is required.
- Previous experience in dining or food service environment is preferred.
- Equivalent years of education may substitute for experience requirement.
Other Requirements
- Minimum 19 years of age according to state regulation.
- Must be trained to sell/serve alcohol through the Nebraska Responsible Beverage Service Training Program or ability to attend training upon hire and prior to handling alcohol at Immanuel properties.
- CPR/AED is preferred at hire or ability to be trained within 30 days of hire.
KSA- Knowledge Skills and Abilities-
- Knowledge of beer, wine and liquor in common drink recipes.
- Ability to operate a Point of Sale (POS) system to perform all necessary transactions.
- Ability to serve residents/guests according to the perceived atmosphere and expectations.
- Ability to follow all alcohol serving procedures and regulations as written by management and State laws.
