A Banquet Houseman takes care of common areas in hotel meeting space, such as the ballroom, meeting rooms, foyer, terrace, pool area, etc. Each hotel follows its own housekeeping/Banquet guidelines and standards. As part of the Banquet staff, a Banquet houseman must be detail-oriented, have good customer service skills, be able to lift heavy items and understand cleaning basics.

Daily Duties

The Banquet houseman provides team members with the items needed to clean meeting rooms and helps stock the carts. He is also responsible for more labor-intensive tasks, such a flipping meeting rooms, moving furniture or debris. He works closely with hotel supervisors to ensure that all room accessories and equipment is in working order. It's also the Banquet houseman's responsibility to comply with security regulations, restock the storage helves, and make sure that outside areas, like patios and pool areas, are kept clean, tidy and in working order.

Other Expectation

A Banquet houseman is also responsible for helping guests with requests and concerns. The Banquet houseman is also expected to help clean common places, such as hallways and sitting areas; remove trash from the grounds, and ensure that all meeting space meets quality product standards as define by hotel management.
