Job Description


The Meal Program Aide, under the direction of Eldercare Services Division Director, is responsible for assisting with the preparation of Elder congregate meals for their assigned meal site.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (includes, but is not limited to, the following)

Helps prepare meals.
Maintains cleanliness of the kitchen and dining room.
Follows sanitations standards for food preparation and storage.
Washes dishes.
Removes trash from kitchen and dining room areas.
Cleans refrigerator, dishwasher, stoves and freezers.
Cleans counter tops and storage areas.
Meets with Cook and nutritionist as needed.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES: (includes, but is not limited to, the following)

Shops for groceries as needed.
Assists maintaining inventory records for food products and supplies.
All other job related duties as assigned.


Immediate peers, immediate supervisor/manager, customers and outside vendors/service providers.


Medium = Lifting of 50 pounds maximum, with frequent lifting/carrying up to 25 pounds. Physical factors include constant standing, frequent walking, reaching, manual handling, use of hearing, smell, near/midrange/far vision, depth perception, color/field of vision; occasional sitting, pushing/pulling, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crawling and bending. Working conditions include frequent exposure to extreme heat/cold, wet/humidity, noise, vibration and air quality. Potential hazards include frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts, electric shock, and chemicals, and frequent infectious exposure and client contact.

Experience: None

Certification/License: Serve Safe Certification preferred, training will be provided. Will be required to undergo and successfully pass a background check. Must maintain a good moral character standing. Will be required to complete and pass pre-employment drug testing.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Must be able to communicate effectively both orally. Must have excellent public relation/customer service skills and be able to exhibit friendly and positive attitude and establish and maintain effective communication with co-workers, supervisors and guests. Must maintain confidentiality. Native American preferred.
