About the role

Our Melrose Park, IL, location is part of our Meat End Use Market and creates a variety of Dry Batters and Breaders. We work in a fast paced and ever changing environment, where we work hard but also enjoy taking part in the community thanks to Kerry s employee engagement program. What would you do?

  • Recommends new quality policies and procedures as necessary to ensure high quality products, processes and services.
  • Communicates programs and standards to quality team and other plant employees.
  • Maintains good communication and working relationship with the quality team and operations.
  • Oversees product analytical testing including Quality Technicians.
  • Ensures that all regulations are followed and that Kerry and customer quality programs meet or exceed customer requirements.
  • Responsible for indicators management and internal audit implementation.
  • Documentation management (writing, updating).
  • Assists with investigating customer complaints and customer audits follow- up.
  • Responsible for implementation and monitoring for Food Safety and quality programs, SQF certification, Food quality policy / quality manual update, Internal audit schedule follow up.
  • Reviewing sanitation program as needed, including pre-operational sanitation.
  • Contributing member of Food Safety Team.
  • Leads investigations of internal Food Safety events.

What will you need to be successful?

  • BS in Food Science or science related field preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years experience in food industry with previous supervision experience.
  • Must have good understanding of food pathogens, HACCP, SSOP s, GMP s, Foreign material prevention and control, USDA regulations, Pest Control, Food Allergens, Recall and Traceability and process control methods such as SPC, among others.
  • Understanding of GFSI requirements preferred.
