Reporting to the Vice-President, Supply Chain, Director of Distribution Center Operations is responsible for the overall design and leadership of Peet's distribution network. Specific areas of accountability include building and leading successful teams responsible for safety, quality, service, cost, inventory management and order fulfillment metrics. This role is accountable for the development and achievement of monthly, annual and long-term strategic plans as well as operational improvement initiatives related to the safety, quality, cost, efficiency, waste and environmental management of all warehouse and distribution operations.Leading day-to-day operations of a multi-channel, multi-site distribution network that fulfills demand for eCommerce, DSD, central distribution, company-owned café channels Network strategy development to position Peet's for continued growth while lowering total landed costs for all channelsSecure strategic alignment across supply chain and commercial teams for improvements to the businessCollaborate with cross-functional peers, department leaders and their respective teams to achieve cost, quality, inventory measures, safety, customer satisfaction and people development objectives.Manage, coach and develop direct reports and their respective teams to achieve short-term objectives while mapping out longer-term career plans for teams to achieve their maximum potential Manage strategic CAPEX planning and execution for investments in new equipment, systems, and facility layout changes.Prepare and manage departmental budgets and ensure direct reports have appropriate information, tools, and resources needed to be accountable to their budgets.Define and report appropriate goals and KPIS to drive business results.Serve as thought leader and change advocate for continuous improvement in operations, the expanded use of WMS technology and the application of advanced decision-support toolsIntegrate co-manufactured assembly operations into the inventory and fulfillment processes where appropriateScans the environment to identify information critical to long-range planning and develop sustainable, competitive and breakthrough strategies and plansStrong team builder and coach with history of accelerating the achievement of othersDemonstrated experience developing and maintaining cross-functional relationships with executive leadership, peers and supporting teamComprehensive understanding of operational excellence in key supply chain processes including planning, transportation, logistics, and quality managementExcellent interpersonal, communication (written and verbal) and presentation skillsMature, facilitative problem-solving skills applying data and experience to support rapid decision-makingStrong analytical skills with solid understanding of financial data and planning.Proven success using metrics, productivity tracking and data collection systems to drive continuous performance improvementAbility to proactively manage multiple priorities in a fast paced, change oriented environment.Working in an advanced WMS environment (required) and MS Power BI experience preferredEducation and Experience:Senior management leadership experience in relevant supply chain management functions including at least 5 years in a fast paced, fulfillment leadership roleBachelor's degree required, preferably in a technical disciplineNational brand, multi-facility, multi-channel distribution management experience requiredManagement of 3rd Party Logistics Providers (3PL) requiredSix Sigma or equivalent lean certifications preferredCPG products experience required with food and beverage background at a mid-to-large scale manufacturer strongly preferred.
