Harbor's Edge is a premier resort-style Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC) located on the harbor in Norfolk, Virginia. Harbor's Edge has a $225 million expansion underway, the River Tower, that includes an additional 24-story tower, doubling the square footage and adding 147 residential living units and 20 assisted living units. When complete, Harbor's Edge will have 300 residential units in addition to a 33 bed (Medicare/Private Pay) Skilled Nursing unit and 80 Assisted Living/Memory Care units. The Community will employ approximately 300 employees.


We're looking for hardworking, self-motivated, and flexible team players to help support the Dining and Catering Department's mission of delivering top-notch, quality service to our residents.

The Dishwasher position is responsible for washing and sanitizing the dishes, cookware, food carts, and food preparation equipment. Additionally, this position will help maintain sanitary conditions throughout the kitchen and work area by ensuring that all walls and floors are clean and trash is emptied on a regular basis.

The ideal candidate has experience in a long-term care environment and a desire to work with the elderly. Exceptional customer service skills and a positive, cheerful demeanor are required.


Responsibilities:

  • Ensures a proper supply of clean dishware, utensils, and glassware to stock the dining areas and set tables
  • Ensures a proper supply of clean pots, pans, and cooking/serving utensils are available for kitchen staff
  • Cleans work areas and all equipment used in food preparation
  • Follows safety and sanitation rules and practices
  • Helps with general cleaning duties in the kitchen, such as cleaning walls/floors and emptying trash
  • Maintains a positive, cheerful attitude at all times
  • Attends in-service classes and staff meetings
  • Performs other duties as assigned


Requirements:

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma/GED at a minimum
  • Relevant experience preferred
  • Ability to work well with others in a fast paced work environment
  • Current Food Handlers Card
