What will I be doing?

New Hire Bonus up to $1,000!

As the Assistant Food & Beverage Manager, you will be responsible to assist in leading all aspects of the daily operations of the Food & Beverage department, while training, directing, and supervising performance of team members.

  • Assists in developing menu items and recipes to be sold in the food and beverage outlets.
  • Maintains inventory levels and controls, and assists in the preparation of department budgets and monitor expenditures to assure cost of goods sold and operating expenses are managed according to budget.
  • Monitors procedures to improve operations. Establishes work priorities, departmental goals, and coordinates departmental scheduling, training, and development.
  • Coordinates with Front Desk to forecast inventory needs based on occupancy and consistently reports to management on priorities and activities of department.
  • Directs communication with departments and outside entities, and acts as a business contact with colleagues, purveyors, and the Health Department officials.
  • Ensure compliance with state food, liquor (where applicable), and sanitation laws and regulations and maintain an "A" rating with the Health Department.
  • Maintains complete and current Safety Data Sheet (SDSs) logbook and safety binder for department and stores chemical and supplies in accordance with company, state, and federal policies.
  • Assist in all other related duties as requested by management

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 3+years in related culinary experience
  • 1+ years of supervisory experience
  • Computer proficiency with apps such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Proficient English language interpersonal skills to communicate both verbally and in writing
  • Valid Hawaii Health Card/Food Handler's Card
  • Valid Hawaii Alcohol Awareness Training Certification
  • Must be of legal age to serve and sell alcohol.

It would be advantageous in this position for you to demonstrate the following capabilities and distinctions:

  • BA/BS or bachelor's degree
  • Previous menu creation experience
  • Back of House and/or Front of House restaurant management experience
