Wyman Bar ensconced in the timeless architecture of the Bradbury Building in downtown Los Angeles delivers a 50's era bar experience. Architecture, Adventure, and the Golden Era of Hollywood are captured within Wyman Bar. Our concept focuses on classic 50's fare realized today. The menu skews to raw bar and handhelds; Lollipop lamb chops, burger, lobster roll, crab club and oysters, a perfect menu for the uncommitted. Aperitivo is owned with the Garibaldi cocktail, a blend of fresh whipped orange juice and Campari, a nod to the state fish of California. Relevant classics are expanded with variations of the Old Fashioned, Martini and vibrant Tiki cocktails over crushed ice. Old and new world wines with an accessible by the glass selection, a curated list of Champagne splits, half wine bottles for those spontaneous mini celebratory moments and a relevant selection of Tequila, Mezcal and American whiskey on our back bar complete the experience.
The Bar Manager has the enviable task of creating and leading an innovative world-class beverage program to complement the Wyman Bar operations at NeueHouse Bradbury. Reporting into the Regional Director of Food and Beverage and NeueHouse Bradbury General Manager, the role oversees all aspects of the bar operations, including the recruitment, training and management of all bar staff, curating and updating the bar program, whilst developing and instilling service excellence. Our Bar Manager will assist in driving a multi-million-dollar revenue channel for NeueHouse Bradbury by executing a seamless and exceptional hospitality experience to our Members, Guests and VIPs; consistently representing Wyman Bar and NeueHouse Bradbury with hospitality and generosity in every interaction.
6 + years acting as Bar Manager or similar role in luxury hospitality, food + beverage, or bar environments
Experience implementing and managing the bar program for high-end, highly visible entertainment entities.
The capacity to work within an ever-changing environment, assisting to develop operating procedures as the business dictates and the willingness to support in other areas as required to maintain the integrity of the Wyman Bar operations.
An advocate and ambassador of service excellence that understands the critical role that exceeding and maintaining service expectations plays in the success of building F+B operations.
Encompassing several spheres of hospitality - blending operations, innovation, and creativity, the role calls upon but is not limited to: beverage menu development, beverage innovation, design, workflow and management of all operational functions as they pertain to the beverage program.
Supply expert knowledge of wine and spirits and ensure the quality of all beverage items, ingredients, and preparation methods while following and keeping to all local, state, and federal laws relating to alcohol service and consumption.
Manage and oversee daily planning and upkeep of the beverage operations to ensure an integrated, efficient, and profitable operation.
Oversee all team's implementation of cocktail, spirit, wine, beer and non-alcoholic beverage training for Bar and Floor staff across the venue.
Assist the Wyman Bar Food and Beverage Manager with recruitment, the establishment of operating systems and the onboarding and set up of training schedules with new staff.
Assist the Wyman Bar Food and Beverage Manager in counting monthly inventory pars of all alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages and inputting these into Excel and Xtra Chef.
Assist in meeting with brand representatives to taste spirits, wine, beer and achieve the best pricing.
Create an excellent work environment, the ability to bring a diverse group of humans from various experiences, countries, and cultures together centered up teamwork and mutual respect.
Ongoing development of team members to ensure detailed product knowledge, growth and professionalism. Effective performance management and discipline of all bar staff.
Effective communication during pre-service briefings of information relating to all beverage offerings, Members, Guests, and daily operations.
Pre- and post-service analysis of the cost-effective and efficient allocation of staffing levels per service in relation to daily reservations and event bookings.
Control labor and operating expenses through effective scheduling, budgeting, purchasing decisions, inventory, and cash control; cost all beverages to achieve target revenue results.
Set the standards of service unique to our properties, consistently working to improve the delivery of service, implementing all systems to ensure smooth delivery.
Attend and coordinate regular operational meetings to ensure effective coordination and cooperation between departments.
Implement effective policies to ensure that overall bar cleanliness meets State Health Code Standards, with the expectation of passing a Grade A.
