The primary functions of the houseman is to provide adequate supplies of clean linen to the Room Attendants, to empty the bags of soiled linen from the carts and to keep the hallways and landings on the guest floors free of trash and debris. All banquet houseman's function as a unit to service the various needs of hotel guests and clients. Duties include the physical preparations of function rooms for exhibits, meetings, receptions, dances, and all meal functions.Being a part of the Sheraton Denver West family means striving for your personal best, every day. Being a part of hospitality means building exciting new relationships, and at Sheraton Denver West, our core values represent our commitment to warm connections with our community, with our guests, and most importantly with every one of our Team Members!Essential ResponsibilitiesDeliver and evenly distribute fresh laundered linen from the laundry storage to the maids closet on each floor daily, replenishing the supply as linens become available throughout the shift.Vacuum hallways on assigned floors daily following training procedures for use of the vacuum cleaner and attachments and remove all debris that may create a safety hazard.Remove bags of soiled linen from the housekeeping carts as they fill, dump them into the laundry chute for laundering and return the empty bag to the appropriate cart.Collect and change trash bags on the maids carts two (2) to three (3) times daily as needed, taking all collected trash to the dumpster to ensure proper disposal.Maintain cleanliness of windowsills and vending areas on assigned floors by vacuuming and dusting and keep all glass and mirrors smudge free using the appropriate cleaning chemicals daily.Respond to guest requests promptly by delivering items such as cribs, extra towels, roll-a-ways, etc.Clean service elevator area landings three times a week by sweeping, mopping, remembering to display the "wet floor" signs while working.Preparing the physical set-ups of meeting and banquets in the meeting rooms of the hotel.Carry out all specific instructions given by the ManagerRelay any problem situation to the Manager for immediate action.The proper storage of all equipmentControl, care and storage of 'support supplies': notepads, pens, and linen, etc.Ensuring the cleanliness of all meeting rooms and hallwaysReport any damage.Keep corridors, pre function areas, back halls, and storage areas clean and orderly, daily.Set all functions on time and as per specifications.Other special projects and duties as assigned.Job Requirements:Ability to work holidays, weekends, and various shifts as needed.Ability to stand for lengthy periods of time, to move throughout hotel, to lift up to 25 pounds safely, and to continuously perform essential job functionsAbility to speak and understand English.Possession of basic math, computer and reading skills.Preferred Experience and QualificationsPrevious hotel experienceBenefits and PayWe believe our employees are our most valuable resource.
