San Matteo Pizza & Espresso Bar is a family owned restaurant that's been favored by the New York Times and others as a favorite NY restaurant to must try. As a family owned restaurant, we look for passionate, hard working, loyal and dedicated staff that are reliable to join our new Upper East Side location opening this fall.

MUST HAVE NYC PRIOR EXPERIENCE TO BE CONSIDERED

We are currently hiring for front and back of the house full/part time positions for the following:

Bartenders
Waiters/Waitresses
Bussers
Food Runners
Host/Hostesses
Prep Cook
Line Cook

Our ideal candidates are those with a sense of strong work ethic, responsible, punctual, professional, and passionate about the industry and our mission- people who will go the extra mile to make customers feel like they are getting a piece of our history and feel part of our family when they visit San Matteo.

Minimum Qualifications & Experience:

Bartenders and servers must have previous 2-3 years of serving and bartending experience in a high-volume environment and recognition of Italian cuisine and culture is required. You must also provide sales quota for past jobs. Must be personable, dedicated, and punctual, and be flexible to work am/pm days.
Host/Hostesses must have 1-2 years of experience, obtain positive and interpersonal skills, fluent in written and oral English, great communicator and must be able to stand for long periods of time.
Food Runners and Bussers must have 1- 2 years experience, be able to communicate in English effectively and must be able to work in a high pace environment.
Line/Prep Cooks must have 2- 3 years of experience, must know how to work with prep machinery such as a slicing machine, be familiar with Italian cuisine and products, communicate in English effectively, be professional, friendly and respectable when being approached by customers.

ALL STAFF: Must be able to work well under pressure and as a team! Must have Open Availability (AM & PM) & be able to work on weekdays, weekends, & holidays.

Required Training/License/Qualifications:
-Food Handlers Card / ServSafe Certification

Experience:

  • Hospitality : 3 years (Required)
