Job Description

The VP of Operations will oversee all the Zax LLC's Company operational objectives. This individual will be responsible for company operations and contribute to the overall planning and direction for the company to achieve both operational and financial goals.

As an integral member of the company, the candidate must exemplify the highest standards of honesty, integrity and discretion. This individual should be highly confident of their abilities. The candidate must be a team player with excellent interpersonal and communication. The candidate must be a leader, directing a group towards a common vision.


Essential duties may include but are not limited to the following:

  • Oversee a workforce around 5,000 team members across multiple states
  • Define and provide leadership to ensure that the vision, mission, and values of the company are upheld
  • Build, oversee, motivate, and lead a high-performance operations management team; providing mentorship, leadership, and development
  • Build high-trust, positive, value-added and collaborative relationship with the field operations teams
  • Responsible for the operation of restaurants adhering to the Zaxby's and Food Code standards
  • Responsible for the execution of the Zaxby's operational platform
  • Drive sales, profitability and people results to meet or exceed targets
  • Establish credibility throughout the organization with management and the employees in order to be an effective listener and problem-solver of people issues
  • Continue improving the programs, policies, practices, and processes associated with Human Resources, Operations, Risk, and Marketing that directly impact Operations


Up to 50% required


  • Subject matter expert on QSR operations
  • Strong working knowledge of restaurant technology
  • Extensive restaurant franchise experience
  • Collaborative working style and strong listening skills with the ability to work with multiple departments and the franchisor
  • A successful operations career with a demonstrated track record of success
  • Humble, good listener who respects the current team and their vision and is ready to work collaboratively among multiple departments and the franchisor
  • Experience in developing, planning, and implementing successful company-wide strategies; strong critical thinking skills
  • High sense of accountability
  • Ability to thrive and multi-task in a fast-paced environment; flexibility to changing situations and environment
  • Excellent organization skills to track and provide guidance on multiple projects
  • Have a hands-on approach and the proven ability to mentor and teach
  • Ability to build and drive a winning culture


  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business/Management preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience: 10+ years of work experience in a senior level multi-unit leadership role in the restaurant industry with QSR, franchise, and drive-thru experience
