Job Description

Our client, a rapidly growing food and beverage company in the Greater Boston area, is seeking a Director of Logistics to join their staff.


Responsibilities include:

  • Everything and anything necessary to support operations
  • Carrier and Warehouse contract negotiation
  • Ensure customer satisfaction through expert management of all carriers and fulfillment centers
  • Report regularly on activity, inventories, and costs
  • Manage all nationwide customer order fulfillment operations in a hands-on manner
  • Optimize existing processes and procedures to drive 100% OTIF delivery nationwide
  • Own the orders to cash process end to end making sure orders are processed, fulfilled, and invoiced with focused urgency
  • Manage all labeling, repacks, shipper build projects (Value Added Services)
  • Review and approve all Logistics related bills
  • Report on warehousing cost monthly by category vs budget
  • Understand overages and opportunity for savings
  • Develop cost saving targets
  • Work with Sales teams to establish terms and conditions aimed at reducing overall customer shipping costs
  • Ensure compliance
  • Develop company-wide process automation
  • Including optimizing our utilization of Netsuite for reporting and tracking of KPIs
  • Establish and maintain EDI connections with warehouses, carriers, and customers
  • Manage Ecommerce platforms
  • Full Operations and IT management
  • amazon, shopify, D2C
  • Provide oversight, training, and redundancy, as needed, on all customer order fulfillment
  • Handle fulfillment when Fulfillment Manager is unavailable
  • Support VP Operations with special projects
  • EX. Analysis of inventory, expiry
  • Cleanup and risk assessment

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree is Business/Logistics or related field
  • 5+ years of experience as a hands-on leader with multiple warehouse locations and a complex supply chain
  • Proficient in Excel and knowledge of operating ERP systems
  • knowledge of the retail environment preferred; Food and beverage industry is a plus
  • Ability to effectively function in an entrepreneurial business environment
  • Position may require occasional overnight travel
