Horseshoe Bay Resort Pastry Cooks exhibit baking and decorating talents by personally performing tasks in preparing quality and consistent pastries and baked goods resort-wide. Must be able to follow standard recipes and complete daily production in a timely manner. Must ensure sanitation and food standards are achieved.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
-Knowledgeable on the fundamentals of pastry techniques and plate presentations.
-Ensure pastry preparation shift operations and ensures compliance with all Food & Beverage policies, standards and procedures.
-Ensures compliance with all local, state and federal (OSHA, ASI and Health Department) regulations.
-Sets a positive example for guest relations.
-Establishes and maintains open, collaborative relationships with associates.
-Maintains resort safety procedures and the ability to follow loss prevention policies to prevent accidents and control costs.
-Ensure we are properly working with supplies and manage inventories according to budget.
-Strives to improve service performance.
-High school diploma or GED, required; 4 years experience in the culinary, food and beverage, or related professional area.
-2-year degree from an accredited university in Culinary Arts, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major, preferred; 2 years experience in the culinary, food and beverage, or related professional area.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Must have the ability to communicate in English. Self-starting personality with an even disposition. Maintain a professional appearance and manner at all times. Can communicate well with guests. Must be willing to "pitch-in" and help co- workers with their job duties and be a team player. Finger/hand dexterity in order to operate food machinery. Ability to grasp, lift and/or carry, or otherwise, move goods weighing a maximum of 100 lbs. on a continuous schedule.
