Jak's is now hiring Cooks, Bartenders, and Dishwashers!

Cook Job Summary:
To prepare food in accordance with all Malibu Jack's specifications and company safety and sanitation policies and procedures.

Responsibilities:
• Prepares a variety food, with diverse methods of preparation and adheres to specific product prep and handling procedures and plate presentation.
• Adheres to all company safety and sanitation policies and procedures.
• Prepares food in accordance with all Malibu Jack's specifications and maintains a high quality and consistent product.
• Maintains cleanliness throughout the kitchen. Cleans and sanitizes throughout the shift.
• Keeps prepared food continuously flowing out of the kitchen.
• Communicates ticket times and potential problems with the manager and servers as necessary.
• Completes assigned pre-work to stock and set up stations as necessary.
• Breaks down, and cleans station or work area at end of shift.
• Ensures proper rotation of all products and stocks product to par.
• Performs shift change and/or opening or closing duties.
• Assists other Team Members as needed or when business needs dictate.
• Performs calmly and effectively under pressure. Maintains a favorable working relationship with all other Team Members to foster and promote a cooperative working climate, which will be conducive to maximum Team Member morale, productivity and efficiency/effectiveness.
• Portrays a favorable image of Malibu Jack's at all times.
• Lifts and carries up to 70lbs, up to 20 times per shift; places these items on high shelves and in walk-in cooler and/or freezer.
• Frequent bending and stooping.
• Stands 100% of shift.
• Works frequently in damp, hot work environment.
• Works with an open flame.
• Uses sharp knives and utensils.
• May use slicers or other kitchen machinery.
• Able to hold items with hands (knives, pans) for extended periods of time, with up to 5 lbs of weight.
• Ability to read tickets.
• Prepares food items to order following established recipes and maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and food safety
• Cleans work areas and all equipment used in food preparation

Bartender Job Summary:
The Bartender plays a leading role in developing positive, lasting guest relationships by consistently delivering an excellent bar experience in our restaurants. As the direct link between the guest and the restaurant, it is primarily the Bartender's responsibility to ensure that each guest enjoys all aspects of their experience. All Malibu Jack's employees are held to high expectations; it is the bartender's responsibility to know the drinks/ingredients and restaurant menus inside and out, play an integral part in the financial results of the position, contribute to running side-work, and be self-motivated to go above and beyond our set of standards. The Bartender is aware of, and complies with, state/federal/corporate liquor laws through age verification and termination alcohol consumption of seemingly intoxicated individuals. The ideal Bartender is at least 21 years of age, has a high school diploma /GED, and a minimum of 2 years like volume bartending experience.

Responsibilities:
• Know and follow all policies, standards & procedures
• Welcome and greet guests
• Make all guests feel comfortable and let them know you're there to personally take care of them
• Know regular guests by name, their preferences and their needs
• Circulate through the assigned bar area on a continuous basis to provide superior guest service
• Know the brands of beer, wine and liquor offered for consumption, as well as the ingredients to the most commonly asked for cocktails, the garnishes they require, the proper glassware, and price
• Inform guests of specialty drinks
• Make recommendations you genuinely feel your guests will enjoy
• Answer questions about our food, beverages, and other restaurant functions and services
• Receive and understand beverage orders and repeat them to the guests and/or servers and enter orders in the point-of-sale system
• Deliver drink orders according to appropriate guidelines to each guest and cocktail server in a timely and efficient manner
• Maintain cash bank and follow established cash handling procedures
• Follow and practice all alcoholic beverage laws, policies and regulations
• Continuously watch for signs of intoxication for the protection and enjoyment of all guests
• Perform side work at the start and end of each shift as required
• Maintain a clean and safe work area and clean section at all times, free from dirty glassware, plastic cups, beer bottles
• Polish all glasses
• Clean and maintain reach-in coolers and fixtures in bar area
• Perform and document physical inventory counts at direction of general manager or restaurant manager
• Monitor and observe guest's experience
• Ensure guests are satisfied with service
• Respond promptly and courteously to any requests
• Prepare final bill, present check to guest, accept payment, process credit card charges or make change (if applicable)
• Thank guests for their visit and invite them to return
• Participate in proactive communication to help avoid and solve operational, HR, and financial issues
• Be available to fill in as needed to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the bar as directed by the restaurant manager or immediate supervisor
• Ensures proper and adequate set-up of the bar on a daily basis by requisitioning and stocking all beer, wine, spirits, paper products, straws and stirrers, condiments and produce according to established policies
• Greets all customers in a warm, sincere, and helpful manner
• Prepares and presents drinks using standard ingredient recipes and practices prudent portion control
• Operates the complete POS system and other required software
• Ensures that work areas are clean and that equipment, tools, and supplies are properly stored
• Ensures compliance with all applicable federal and state laws and all company policies

Dishwasher Job Summary:
To provide guest and team members with clean and sanitized utensils, dishes, glassware, equipment and facilities.

Responsibilities:
• Provides guests and team members with clean sanitized and spot-free utensils plate-ware, glassware, and equipment.
• Sets up dish machine in the AM and closes down the dish machine in the PM according to proper procedures.
• Maintains daily cleanliness and maintenance of dish machine.
• Trouble-shoots dishwasher machine malfunctions.
• Washes plate-ware, glassware, silverware and posts/pans and kitchen utensils adhering to sanitation and cleaning procedures.
• Keeps the kitchen clean by sweeping and mopping floors and emptying trash.
• Cleans and sanitizes throughout the shift.
• Completes assigned prep work and beautification duties.
• Performs shift change and/or opening or closing duties.
• Adheres to all company safety and sanitation policies and procedures.
• Assists other Team Members as needed or when business needs dictate.
• Ensures a proper supply of clean dishware, utensils, and glassware to stock the dining areas and set tables
• Ensures a proper supply of clean pots, pans, and cooking/serving utensils are available for kitchen staff
• Cleans work areas and all equipment used in food preparation
• Follows safety and sanitation rules and practices

•Able to work days, evenings, weekends, and holidays
•Able to lift 25 lbs to waist level multiple times a day
•Exhibit a sense of urgency
•Customer-friendly demeanor
•Strong stamina to work long or split shifts

Dishwasher Requirements:
•Previous experience preferred
•Knowledge of general sanitary and safety practices
•Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
