Assists in the preparation of a food items for all F&B outlets according to established standards of quality and presentation while maintaining a safe, sanitary work environment.JOB DUTIES
-Prepares food of consistent quality following established recipes and production/portion standards.
-Starts food items that have been prepared in advance, making sure not to overestimate needs.
-Responsible for the food organization, production and execution of all events and catering functions
-Plates food, applying creativity to plate presentation with concentration on eye appeal
-Observes workers engaged in preparing, portioning, and garnishing foods to ensure that methods of cooking, garnishing and sizes of portions are as prescribed
-Assist Banquet Chef in estimate food consumption and purchases or requisitions food products and kitchen supplies
-Cleans equipment and workstation thoroughly during and at the end of each shift in order to maintain proper sanitation and orderliness.
-Ensures all deadlines are met in food production based on production orders
be able to work a flexible shift that includes: Days, Afternoon, Nights and Weekends. Plus, work Holidays as well, if needed.Note: May be assigned other duties by supervisor or management EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
SKILLS & ABILITIES
-Four year culinary degree from an accredited institution preferred or 4 year culinary apprenticeship.
-Knowledge of working in a Banquet kitchen for multiple outlets in a hotel preferred
-High School Diploma or Equivalent
-Excellent verbal communication skills
-Ability to pay close attention to detail
-Basic reading, writing, and math skills
-Excellent organizational and time management skills
-Follows principles of sanitation and safety in handling food and equipment
-Ability to calculate figures and amounts, such as recipe yields, serving size, weight and temperature conversion
-Handles foods items appropriately during preparation
-Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays
