Job Description

Overview: Reporting to the Co-CEOs, the Director of Finance is responsible for all financial functions of the company and advises senior management as to the risks and benefits associated with business decisions. The Director of Finance blends strong financial acumen with strategic thinking to help guide the company to achieve its financial and operational objectives. This role is responsible for all reporting and metrics and will have a close working relationship with the Co-CEOs, senior management, and the Board of Directors.


Responsibilities:

● Structure and review monthly, quarterly, and annual reports and audits

● Manage the financial organization and structure functions of staff

● Perform financial and operational analysis and metrics tracking

● Direct and oversee all financial policies, planning, reporting, and controls, including accounting, internal audit, budget, credit, insurance, risk, tax, and treasury

● Develop sourcing strategies and financing for green coffee and margin/pricing matrix by customer segment

● Design incentive programs for all channels and levels of management

● Educate team on financial reporting and metrics

● Advise senior management as to the risk and benefits associated with business decisions

● Strategize with senior management to meet company growth objectives

● Produce presentations for the board, investors, senior management, internal staff

● Manage financials and cash flow presentation as related to growth, fundraising, and acquisition opportunities

● Network and gather new and innovative ideas that assist with company growth


Qualifications:

● 10-15+ years of financial leadership

● Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or other related fields, preferred (or equivalent combination of experience and education)

● Knowledge of full accounting cycle and departmental functions, budgeting and forecasting, and financial analysis for omnichannel business

● High level of familiarity with specialty/hospitality/food and beverage/grocery divisions

● Extensive experience in communicating and presenting to senior management, investors, employees and board of directors

● Ability to manage banking relationships and evaluate and execute financing options (debt, equity, PPP, grants, other)

● Proven success in scaling complex, omnichannel consumer businesses

● Understanding of insurance and liability for retail spaces

● Must have 5+ years experience with Accounting software; Quickbooks preferred

● Strong experience with multiple POS systems (knowledge of ECRS preferred); experience simplifying processes and systems

● High level of proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Powerpoint

● Excellent, professional written and verbal communication

● Exceptional critical thinking

● Strong attention to detail and adherence to accuracy


Physical Demands & Work Environment:


● Ability to maneuver effectively around San Francisco office location, including up and downstairs

● Flexibility to work offsite, from home, and travel to Los Angeles region
