The Gerald is a Korean restaurant on Ballard Ave with killer craft cocktails. Our menu showcases traditional Korean flavors ranging from street food to traditionally royal cuisine in modern ways. We changed our menu last year and we're continuing to grow, it is an exciting time for us! We're about to undergo further changes to solidify our standing as the restaurant with some of the most exciting food in the neighborhood.
We're looking to hire a lead cook. The kitchen is overseen by chef/owner while the day to day operations are overseen by the kitchen manager. The lead cook would be the next one in command and be in charge of the kitchen on days when neither of the above are in the kitchen.
We're a small kitchen and team so everyone shares tasks whether it's dishwashing, working the line, closing, etc. This means teamwork is crucial. We strive for a fun and inclusive working environment and do not tolerate silly things like the chef yelling at cooks or any other form of disrespect.
At least 2 year kitchen experience is required.
Supervisory experience is strongly preferred.
Familiarity with Korean cuisine is not necessary but helpful.
$22/hr + tips. After 90 days of continuous employment, $300 signing bonus will be paid.
