Well established NW neighborhood restaurant in search of Chef/Kitchen Manager. Cafe Nell is searching for a unique person to help carry out our traditions while helping charge into tomorrow! We are a high volume, high quality restaurant and we are looking for someone to help keep us performing at the highest level. Our new Chef/ Kitchen Manager is a person that has the integrity to always do what is right even when it is not expected and especially when it may be hard. This job is hard and the hours are long. Experience is nice (5 years) but we will hire for desire if you demonstrate you can lead our team to new heights. This is not your typical restaurant; average is the enemy here, so only those who wish to lead well and do the fun parts along with tough parts need apply. Our new Culinary Director must have some familiarity with word and excel, some management experience with recommendations and must know that the Restaurant business requires long hours and hard work. Spanish or kitchen Spanish a plus. We will depend on you but you in turn can depend on us. Duties will include ordering and sourcing fresh ingredients, creating new menu items and updating menus seasonally (including dessert and happy hour items), tracking food and ordering costs, updating recipe costing cards, inventory control, quality control, kitchen scheduling and labor costs. Must have strong line cook and prep skills, must be confident training kitchen staff on proper cooking/food handling/food storage methods. Individual will be in charge of a 10-12 employee BOH as well as food and menu training with the FOH employees. We are offering a fair salary/bonus $60M - $90M with room for growth.
