Position: Accounting Manager

What You Will Do

As the Accounting Manager, you will be responsible for completing many of the daily transactions of the business (invoicing, payables, payment receipt/processing), coordinating and processing the close of financials each month, and ensuring the accuracy of the financial records. You will help guide business and financial processes by recommending and implementing key financial policies and procedures for timely execution and compliance with GAAP. You will be responsible for execution of the accounting close schedule and maintenance of accounting system (QuickBooks Enterprise). As the company scales, you will assist with enhancing key metric reporting and improving the accounting close process. You will also be responsible for some tax filings, payroll processing, insurance renewals, and other general corporate related business filings. This is a hands-on, primarily in-office position with some remote work time if desired.

Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):

  • Completion of all tasks related to invoicing, accounts payable, and receivables
  • Process all customer payments and send to banking partner
  • Perform all month-end accruals (Trade Spend, Freight, Payroll, Brokerage, Opex, others) and adjust for any prepaids
  • Maintain an organized fixed asset schedule and depreciate assets as needed per GAAP
  • Work closely with operations at the manufacturing location to ensure delivery of information and processes are followed for proper accounting updates each day
  • Review and reconcile all balance sheet accounts (Cash, AR, Line of Credit, Inventory, AP, Accruals, Prepaids, Fixed Assets)
  • Timely and accurate processing of payroll and posting payroll journals
  • Report any necessary information to bank in a timely manner
  • Continually work in QuickBooks to perform the following a regular basis: Invoicing customers timely, Processing payments to vendors, Recording customer payments, Reconciliation of physical inventory counts, Recording of bank transfers, Posting and booking of Ecomm orders, Reconciliation of bank balances and LOC balances, Inputting of all credit card transactions
  • Continually find new improved and more efficient ways to perform all tasks
  • Provide support as appropriate to ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end close
  • Support requests as needed by auditors
  • Other Ad Hoc requests from time to time

Who You Are

The ideal candidate will be a disciplined self-starter with strong organizational and planning skills. This position will require a detailed and collaborative approach to managing the accounting processes of a growing company.

This position will report to the CFO.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant accounting experience required
  • QuickBooks Enterprise experience required
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related degree preferred
  • Food production or manufacturing experience preferred
  • Good understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Strong MS Excel skills
  • Experience working with an inventory management system or ERP highly desirable
  • Previous payroll processing experience a plus
  • Highly detailed and organized
  • Driven to drive strong financial results by ensuring customers pay on time
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Possesses exceptional written and verbal communication skills and able to build strong working relationships
  • Passion for the natural food and beverage business a plus
  • Team player willing to adapt and be flexible as the business grows
