Key Responsibilities

· Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations, design, document and execute internal controls to support the completeness and accuracy of the financial statements

· Provide accounting consultation on various ad-hoc projects and new initiatives

· Perform technical accounting research to determine appropriate accounting treatment for new and existing business processes and draft related memo/policy documents

· Assist with training and coaching of less experienced team members, tracking of day-to-day tasks and setting team priorities

· Recommends and implements ideas and innovations to improve upon existing systems, processes and procedures affecting month-end and quarter-end financial close, account analysis preparation and financial reporting

· Build out, scale, and maintain product costing systems and methodologies

· Manage and optimize accounts payable processes to support company during growth mode

· Participate in strategic financial projects including upgrades and implementations

· Interact with budget owners to produce timely, efficient, and accurate month-end close and financial reporting

· Assist with compilation of information for preparation of tax returns

Preferred Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree required; degree in Accounting, Finance or related field preferred
  • CPA and/or public accounting experience preferred
  • Operational and/or cost accounting experience with one or more Fortune 500 companies for two or more years


  • Experience working with a fast-paced, high-growth start-up or complex company
  • Execute judgment and ensure the right decisions are reached to accurately report financial results
  • Drive projects, provide accounting guidance and often serve as first point of contact for finance and business partners to resolve issues
  • Dealing in ambiguity with the ability to reprioritize based on multiple business needs
  • Experience using an ERP system and business intelligence and reporting tools (such as Oracle or NetSuite) preferred

· Experience in accounting at a professional level, including journal entries, account reconciliation, reporting and analysis or equivalent experience

· Strong knowledge of cost accounting principles including capitalization of variances, E&O analysis, and experience with rolling standard costs

· Advanced problem solving and analytical skills, including ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams as well as demonstrated ability to understand broad business and financial issues

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate financial results to individuals at various levels of the organization in a clear and concise manner

· Attention to detail and ability to drive and implement process improvements and controls

· Understanding of US GAAP and internal controls

· Ability to multi-task and manage priorities effectively, while exhibiting exceptional attention to detail and continuously driving process improvements

· Ability to effectively project manage

· Intermediate skills in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
