Job Description

Job Summary: Cleans and stores hotel linens in a timely, organized manner to ensure that the hotel's laundry and linen needs are met. Most of the time is spent sorting incoming linen and folding outgoing linen, and this is usually accomplished while standing, lifting and folding in one area. Communication skills are necessary some of the time when responding to a guest request. The shift available is for the mornings.

Job Duties:

  • -Receives soiled linens by bag, cart or chute from the floors.
    -Sorts all articles by kind, color and degree of soil.
    -Inspects all laundry and linens and records all damaged or stained items.
    -Wash, dry and fold linens, includes transporting of dirty and clean linens from one place to another, loading and unloading carts, washers and dryers.
    -Operates washers and dryers according to recommended capacity and other manufacturers' guidelines. Ensures necessary chemicals are added in the correct quantities prior to wash cycles.
    -Assists in daily linen counts for monthly inventories.
    -Report maintenance deficiencies or malfunctioning equipment to supervisor.
    -Keep work area, supplies, and equipment neat and in good order.
    -Report and replace any stained or damaged linens or supplies.
    -Provides all guests and co-workers with friendly and professional services in a timely manner.
    -Clean public spaces in accordance to established standards as required.
    -Clean guest rooms in accordance to established standards as required.
    -Perform and complete daily assigned projects.
    -Perform any additional duties as required by management.
    -Takes personal ownership in success of company and conducts self-according to Franchise Player Traits (core values).
    -Always provides a professional image through appearance and dress.
    -Follows company policies and procedures.

Note: Other duties as assigned by supervisor or management

Education and Experience:

  • -Basic Reading, writing and math skills
    -High School Diploma or Equivalent
    -Minimum of 1-year experience in a hotel

Skills and Abilities

  • -Customer service oriented
    -Strong oral and written communication skills
    -Time management and organizational skills
    -Ability to pay close attention to detail
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends and holidays

Physical Requirements

  • -Ability to walk and stand for extended periods, kneel, reach, talk, hear, see, bend, twist, kneel, crouch, stoop, climb, grasp and perform repetitive motions
    -Able to use common household chemicals.
    -Able to work in a fast paced, stressful environment
    -Ability to push, pull, lift, carry or otherwise move up to 75 lbs.
