Highland Park Rehabilitation & Nursing Center - Hospitality Aide Responsibilities:
Passing Ice and Water
Answering Call Lights and Relaying Requests to Nursing Staff (as long as the Hospitality Aide does not attempt to do any "hands-on" care for the resident which would include, but not limited to, toileting, transfers, bathing, and feeding.)
Passing Food Trays Pushing Residents in Wheelchairs as long as the resident's care plan does not have any special provisions for this that would require a Certified or Licensed Direct Care staff member.
Straightening up rooms, wiping off bedside tables, assisting residents with denture care.
Recording meal intakes in ADL Flow Sheets.
Sitting with residents, providing meaningful activities and conversation. Assisting with supervising residents who are at risk for falls.
Calling for help if a resident appears to be in a dangerous situation, i.e. appears to be about to fall, go out a door, etc. and calmly talking to the resident, encouraging them to be safe until help arrives.
Making rounds up and down hallways, check on residents frequently to ensure they are safe.
