He/she is responsible for coordination of the overall daily operation of the kitchen and the meal programs.The hours for this position are: Saturday: 10am - 6:30pmSunday: 10am - 6:30pm The Cook is responsible for: Provides nutritional balanced meals for Sarah's House programHe/she is responsible for coordination of the overall daily operation of the kitchen and the meal programsPrepares and coordinates all kitchen activitiesOrientates and trains volunteers, interns, and any Sarah's House staff who provides assistance with meal preparation and clean upEnsures that MD Health Dept. regulations are observed for all meals preparedAccepts and processes all food and kitchen supply donations and orders. This position will require the following: HS Diploma or GED, at least 1 year of experience as lead or supervisor in a food service/restaurant environment or in an institutional dietary department.Knowledgeable of Health Department codes and standards. Possesses a Safe Serve Certificate or has the ability to obtain a ServSafe certificate within 6 months of employment. Requires a valid Maryland Driver's License with no more than three points. Must be able to move throughout the building, inside and outside, including climbing stairs. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, have the ability to stand 90% of the shift with intermittent bending.
