Job Description

The materials and inventory planner responsibilities include both demand management and inventory planning. They will plan inventory, schedule manufacturing orders and coordinate the flow of work and materials to meet delivery expectations of forecasted and actual sales while minimizing inventory levels. The planner will reflect demand changes in our planning systems to ensure high accuracy of forecast needs and ensure accuracy in inventory records, item usage history, and forecasting files.

Scope of Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop production and inventory management plans to support both material and finished good requirements
  • Identify current and potential product shortages, develop and execute recovery, advise interested parties of status and recovery plans
  • Coordinate material movement between vendors, warehouse and the production floor
  • Assist in the development, implementation, analysis and coordination of the master production schedule
  • Utilize the OMP supply chain planning solution to ensure that forecast data is accurate and up to date
  • Maintain and update master files [items, vendors, etc.] including new item setup
  • Thoroughly review, familiarize and understand existing inventory structure
  • Key participant in developing and managing company SOP, as well as drawing up process
  • Manage inventory levels to meet corporate goals
  • Key participant in annual physical inventory
  • Support inventory checks to validate inventory accuracy; investigate & reconcile discrepancies & negatives
  • Posting of daily production and inventory transactions
  • Analyze data and collaborate with senior management to determine and apply appropriate ordering, inventory,and replenishment policies
  • Assist in maintaining the monthly KPI
  • Provide reports and requested information as needed
  • Work with sales to develop accurate forecasts
  • All other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor of Arts Degree or equivalent
  • 1-2 years professional experience in manufacturing planning, inventory control or materials planning role
  • Knowledge and experience with Sales & Operations Planning
  • Advanced computer skills, Excel experience mandatory
  • Strong planning and organizational skills
  • Extremely strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication skills
