Job Description

BASIC PURPOSE: Provides technical, procedural support and solutions for enterprise systems and for shoreside and shipside operations supporting multiple business units. Provides on-call support, system administration, data extraction and analysis in order to maintain and improve system and business processes. Leads projects and provides the best and most cost-effective solutions that meet corporate goals and objectives. Business units supported include Supply Chain, Accounting, Hotel Operations, Payroll, Itinerary and Fuel.


  • Install, customize, maintain and implement system software, program product software, for vessels, islands and associated shoreside departments. Monitors performance and reliability for systems to improve user satisfaction.
  • Perform daily activities to support business areas including but not limited to query development and analysis, report development, business analysis, and first level troubleshooting.
  • Collaborate with business analysts, security engineers, infrastructure team and project managers in order to implement, maintain and enhance enterprise solutions.
  • Perform process analysis for selected business functions identifying process changes for efficient use of software solutions. Coordinates with the vendors to determine feasible solutions and alternatives to business requests.
  • Participate in the research, planning and implementation of technical solutions that will meet present and future systems needs of related shoreside and shipside departments within the context of corporate needs and goals. Manage special projects from design to implementation assisting in integration of technologies and tracking of deliverables.
  • Participate in the formulation and administration of systems standards and procedures. Ensure that ship and related shoreside technical solutions are consistent within the overall corporate architectural direction.
  • Maintain a high level of expertise with systems software, and necessary program products. Seeks the most cost-effective alternatives to present to management in order to meet the needs of the corporation.
  • Maintain a level of expertise with required application systems to support departmental areas.
  • Create and update system documentation in order to facilitate the efficient support of systems.
  • Support MXP, AMOS and other enterprise shore and ship side applications as necessary.
  • Perform other job related functions as assigned.


EDUCATION: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or Business Administration or related field of study; or equivalent combination of education, skill and work experience.

EXPERIENCE: Minimum 5 years experience in technical infrastructure and software support and development. 2 years' experience using SQL to retrieve and analyze data required. 2 years of cruise industry experience working directly with shipboard Accounting preferred. Procurement and Inventory experience, in any industry, preferred. MXP analyst experience strongly preferred. Experience with cruise industry operations for shipside and shoreside and overall business application systems preferred.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS: Basic knowledge of integration with third party systems including crew management, accounting, inventory, and purchasing systems. Knowledge of or ability to learn business operations such as Fleet Operations, Supply Chain and Accounting functions. Strong data analysis skills. Ability to independently handle assigned activities including all user and vendor interactions in order to effectively carry out the assigned duties. Proven competency with the Microsoft Suite including WORD, PowerPoint and Excel. Excellent written and verbal communications skills to work with internal business owners and vendors on. System specifications, requirements and recommendations. Interpersonal skills to work effectively in a team-based environment. Ability to be on call, to support shipside and enterprise system issues. Ability to travel for shipboard support, if needed. Ability to acquire and maintain a valid Transport Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card along with a Miami Seaport security access card strongly preferred.
