JOB PURPOSE: Welcoming guests and assisting them into the Salon. Responsible for performing hair spa services in the manner trained by The Spa. Direct all efforts toward guest satisfaction, the achievement and maintenance of Omni standards and profit maximization.
Adhere to all standard policies and procedures and Texas Cosmetology laws. Perform all guest activities in a cordial, efficient and professional manner, at all times maintaining a commitment to guest satisfaction. Maintain a cooperative, team-like attitude in working with management and fellow associates in all Houstonian departments. Help achieve our common goals of maximizing guest satisfaction and profit margins. Maintain a positive attitude towards co-workers and the job being performed. Report to work on time in a properly cleaned and pressed uniform. Hygiene is key in this environment due to the close proximity working with the clients. At no time is cigarette smoke allowed to be on the hands, clothes, or breath of a spa employee during a shift. Adhere to a professional relationship with clients of Omni. Discussion of internal matters of any sort with clients is not permitted. Without exception performing Consultation, and Verbal Communication on every client you service. Uphold the standards of sanitation and sterilization as directed by law and the spa's policies and procedures. Perform haircuts and/or color services listed on our spa menu administered by a hair stylist. This will include shampooing and scalp treatments and scalp massage. Perform specific salon services on the guest in a manner that helps them relax and enjoy their experience at the Spa. Perform all services for which training has been received in the allotted period. Maintain all hair stations, salon areas and hair tools in a sanitary condition. Change linens in between guests using clean capes and towels for each guest. Assist in maintaining a clean dispensary in the back room of the salon. Promote and sell retail products. Keep work area neat and clean at all times, personal items should never be visible. Keep work area stocked with sufficient supplies for a full day of operation. Refill products in the work carts used for the day. Clean equipment and common areas used after performing services. Fold towels and linens for use in the service areas. Properly use authority within given guidelines to keep our guests happy. Inform managers of ways to improve overall operation of the spa, you working experience and the comfort of our guests. Assist other departments whenever necessary (and available). Attend all training sessions, learning new techniques to be used in the performance of the job. Maintain current certifications/licenses to be displayed in the Spa. A copy will be kept on file in the Spa. It is the stylist's responsibility to never allow this license to expire. If this happens, the associate will be removed from the work schedule. Perform any reasonable tasks assigned by a supervisor or manager. Attend all Omni training classes. Report any maintenance problems throughout the spa to spa management. Help train fellow hair stylist on newest techniques and treatments. Stay current and educated with new treatments and products in the Spa/Salon industry. Promote self as well as other Spa, Hotel and Club affiliates and services. Must maintain client and spa business confidentiality/privacy at all times. Must agree and adhere to compensation acknowledgment and tip reporting guidelines.
The Spa functions 12-16 hours per day, 7 days a week, 365 days per year. All employees must realize this fact and be aware that at times it may be necessary to change an associate from their usual shift as business needs change. At times, due to lack of business, it may be necessary to reduce work hours. Shifts may vary depending on business demands. Report to work on time for your scheduled shifts. Must be able to work weekends and holidays.
Must speak fluent English. Current cosmetology license is required. Must be able to deal with people in a professional manner under pressure. Must have previous experience.
Follow all aspects of job safety. Understand that the job may require bending, stooping, and lifting of materials of moderate weight.
