Banquet focused, primarily PM shift, salary Dunwoody Country Club of Atlanta, GA is seeking an experienced Sous Chef. The Club will hire a skilled, mature, motivated professional. Ideal candidate will have two years sous chef experience, possess work experience in a la carte and banquets, be trained in classical cooking and will demonstrate pride, passion and professionalism. Culinary degree preferred but not required. Club experience a plus.Position's primary responsibility will be in PM banquets but will assist in other areas as necessary- flexibility is required. The Club is open Tuesday through Sunday, with Mondays being available for golf outings and other events. This is a hands on, production oriented role in a scratch cooking environment.Specific job expectations include but are not limited to:· Training staff in adherence to recipes driven by proper cooking technique to deliver consistent results.· Supervise staff of 8-10.· Inspection of all product- both raw and prepared- to ensure freshness, quality, proper preparation and consistency.· Coordinate ordering of product with Purchaser to ensure product is on site in sync with production schedule.· Maximize hours worked and production time, ensuring efficient use of time and high work output of team.· Assist in writing menus for member golf groups and other special events as needed.· Be proactive in managing cleanliness and adhering to food safety standards. Must be able to train and manage staff to high cleanliness and sanitation standards.· Be a hands-on, engaged leader able to teach, motivate and develop cooks.· Ability to uphold standards of production and execution in absence of Executive Chef.· Play an integral role in advancing program's processes, standards and culture towards building a truly dynamic culinary team.· Attend weekly department meetings.· Complete additional tasks as assigned by Executive Attributes of potential candidates:· Well groomed and professional appearance.· Strong written and verbal communication skills· Well rounded in experience, equally comfortable cooking tacos as well as foie gras.· Documented track record of growth in quality-oriented establishments.· Undeniable desire to learn, teach and move forward in this career path.· Two years experience as a sous chef in scratch cooking and BenefitsThe position will offer a competitive compensation package with benefits.
