Description:

The Assistant Team Leader of Meat & Seafood is responsible for the exceptional execution of Guest Service by the entire department. In conjunction with the Meat & Seafood Team Leader, they are responsible for holding Team Members accountable to achieve the highest level of guest satisfaction and leading the team to success. They are responsible for managing department inventory, margin, labor budgets, pricing integrity and merchandising standards. They will ensure Team Members receive proper training and supervision regarding product knowledge, proper rotation, storage, merchandising standards, building displays and proper opening and closing procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to model and provide exceptional Guest Service.
  • Ability to lead by example and set clear expectations.
  • Must have a minimum of two years of experience working in Meat & Seafood and a desire to grow in the Meat & Seafood department to a Team Lead position.
  • Able to oversee and train all proper rotation techniques.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; strong organizational skills.
  • Must be intermediate in Microsoft Excel and Outlook
  • Ability to work a variety of shifts including nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Stand and walk for up to 4 hours without a break.
  • Ability to bend and stoop to grasp objects, climb ladders, lift loads, up to 50 lbs. unassisted, push and pull carts weighing up to 100 lbs. unassisted.

Responsibilities:

  • Model and provide exceptional guest service.
  • Daily Department walks for excellence in cleanliness, ordering proficiency, stock levels, merchandising and proper signage.
  • Identify, prioritize, and delegate tasks to team members.
  • Along with the TL, will train, mentor and coach Team Members to succeed.
  • Must coach and mentor team for all compliance requirements; tare, temp and saw cleaning.
  • Effectively resolve guest issues.
  • Must achieve maintain budgeted margins and comps for each sub department and total department.
  • In the absence of the TL, Buyer or as assigned, will inventory and order for the department as needed and keep up to date purchase journals.
  • In the absence of the TL, Buyer or as assigned, must meet all deadlines in terms of invoices, purchase journals & reconciliation, scheduling, perishable inventories, rotation audits and pricing audits.
  • In absence of the TL, or as assigned, must track TM time and attendance.
  • Communicate all Team Member issues to Meat & Seafood Team Leader and Store Leadership.
  • Assist with sampling program, keeping sample areas full, clean and appealing.
  • Follow and comply with all applicable health and sanitation procedures and adhere to all safe work practices
  • Provide feedback to the TL to write and administer performance reviews.
  • Effectively communicate with Guests, Team Members and Store Leadership.
  • Ensure Team Member compliance of all relevant Plum Market policies and standards.
