What are we looking for in a Kitchen Coordinator?

The role of a Kitchen Coordinator is to oversee all kitchen facilities throughout the agency to ensure quality is consistent and processes are standardized. The Kitchen Coordinator will establish centralized menus, inventory standards, food and supply ordering, and documentation requirements to achieve consistency across the agency. Coordinating with other Comprehensive staff (including kitchen staff, Site Directors, and Safety Officer) and traveling within our service area are significant parts of this role.


Kitchen Coordinator duties may include:

  • overseeing menus and ensuring that special diets/allergies are accommodated accordingly
  • inventorying kitchens weekly and working with site staff to order all food & supplies
  • coordinating with a dietician and site directors to ensure that menus meet the needs of each population served
  • assessing kitchen food handling practices & cleanliness on a weekly basis and training staff on Department of Health and Joint Commission standards
  • monitoring and maintaining emergency food & water supplies
  • reporting weekly audit findings to Safety Officer and taking appropriate corrective actions, when necessary, to ensure compliance with standards
  • ensuring all food service areas are cleaned and maintained properly, directly assisting when necessary
  • completing documentation and ensuring records and archives are consistent across all kitchen facilities


Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Two years of related kitchen and cooking experience
  • Knowledge of Washington State Foodservice codes, menu planning, and inventorying
  • Must have or be able to obtain Food Handler's permit
  • Must have valid driver's license and vehicle liability insurance
