POSITION: Quality and Food Safety ManagerLOCATION: Milwaukee, WI 53201SALARY: 95-120k + Bonus DEGREE: Preferred EXPERIENCE: 5+ years Experience in Food Safety. Must have Ready To Eat experienceRELOCATION: Relocation Package
Responsible for the daily operations of the Quality laboratory, including management of Quality technicians.
•Coordinates and directs the development, execution, and monitoring of food safety programs, policies, and documentation.•Communicate food safety initiatives. Ensure internal programs align with SQF standards.•Lead lab processes to ensure all products meet or exceed quality standards.•Responds to and assists operations, sanitation, or maintenance in any food safety or quality issue.•Direct technicians to achieve daily production goals and provide feedback to the team.•Maintains quality and food safety systems in accordance with current government, regulatory, and industry standards.•Review, prepare and implement technical documents, procedures and work instructions.•Serve as HACCP Coordinator by implementing, maintaining and ensuring compliance of HACCP and Food Safety Pre-requisite programs.•Prepare and maintain product formulations for regulatory approval.•Manage new formulations, labeling, and nutritional database.•Participate in product development meetings and conduct shelf-life studies on new products.•Assists with consumer and customer complaints.•Conducts internal and external supplier audits•Assist with training of employees on food safety and quality procedures.•Identify and coordinate areas for improvement as they pertain to achieving food safety and quality goals and initiatives.•Ensures product and raw material conformance to specification•Performs other duties as assigned by the Vice President of Quality Assurance or Management.
Qualifications:•Minimum of 5 years in a Quality Management.•Must have RTE experience
•B.S. in Chemistry, Biology or Food Science preferred
•HACCP experience required•Previous SQF, Sanitation, HACCP, Food Safety, and Quality Assurance experience, a plus.•Proficient in Microsoft Office•Availability to work weekends and off-hours to support the department
