Job DetailsWhat you will be doing:
- Perform service & repairs on kitchen hood systems, suppression gas systems, and portable fire extinguishers
- Service, troubleshoot and install hood suppression systems from a variety of manufacturers, including Simplex, ANSUL, Pyro-Chem, etc.
- Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, schematics and operational product manuals
- Test and inspect pre-engineered fire suppression systems & portable fire extinguishers, following applicable codes, and based on contract requirements
- Inspection of fire extinguishers in accordance with NFPA 10 and kitchen extinguishing systems NFPA 17-17A and UL 300
- Perform on-site emergency troubleshooting and repairs
- Prepare accurate and timely service tickets and reports
- Develop and maintain good relationships with customers with a passion for delivering stellar service
- Consult and advise customers regarding potential safety issues
Desired Skills:
- Ability to travel to multiple job sites each day
- High precision and detail-oriented
- Solid verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently with little supervision
- Knowledge of fire systems and tools
- Knowledge of NFPA, manufacture specifications, and local fire codes
Job Requirements:
- 2+ years of experience in hood suppression & fire extinguishers, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Able to work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions - climbing ladders multiple times per day, scaffolding and high lift equipment up to 40 feet, working within ducts, crawl spaces, above ceilings, etc.
- Carry and move tools and equipment weighing up to 70 pounds
- NICET Certification preferred, but not required
