This is a hands-on position managing the accounting function.
KEY RESPONSIBILITES AND ABILITIES:
- Manage and direct the accounting team responsible for Inventory, Billing, Accounts Payable and General Accounting
- Oversee the monthly and year-end close procedures within established deadlines
- Ensure compliance with US GAAP and tax reporting requirements
- Coordinate with Tax & Audit firm for client prepared information in support of annual reporting & filing requirements
- Implement and enforce strong internal control procedures
- ·Review and approve work of staff including JEs, transactions, reconciliations and reports
- Ensure the accuracy of the company's balance sheet and P&L with particular focus on key accounts and results
- Identify process inefficiencies and implement tools and procedures that remediate issues
- Develop and implement policies and procedures that document the company's positions and processes
- Provide guidance and leadership for accounting staff ensuring a team dynamic that supports the business
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Accounting or Related Degree Required
- CPA Required
- Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience with a strong preference for manufacturing experience
- Minimum of 3 years in managing staff
- Excellent written & oral communication skills
- Strong knowledge of MS Office applications with particular focus on Excel
- Experience working with inventory management tools as well as GL and related subledger packages
- Ability to work in physical office environment
